Week 18

Here's a new picture, for week 18.

WOW, I can't believe we're almost to the halfway point. While I was home alone on Saturday I started reading my What to Expect: the First Year book. I'm not sure whether that was a good idea or not! Reading that book made me realize how very unready I feel to have a baby. Can I confess something? I am not, and never really have been, a huge "baby person." I think babies are adorable at around the 6 month stage, and I adore toddlers because they are such cute little people with personalities! But new babies seem so fragile and I wonder, will I be able to feed, change, and clothe such a tiny little person?

Thankfully, my mom told me that she had the same feelings when she had me and my sister. She wasn't a huge baby person either, but when it's your own, it all kind of just kicks in, or so I hear. I guess we'll find out about 22 weeks when we meet this precious new little person!

So cute! What to Expect is one of the books that I read with Samuel that made me the least prepared! I have also found, I love my children more than life its self, and other peoples kids are just ok... It is weird. I went through tons of moments with Samuel that I swore I wasn't ready and I would just have to stay pregnant forever because I would make a terrible mother! All in all, it is turning out pretty good and lots of fun!

I read this post before, but I just have to comment this time...I think every mom goes through that scary stage of pregnancy that screams "what have we done?" but I'll tell you that at 40 weeks, you'll be ready to do just about anything just to hold that little one outside of your womb! Seriously, though God uses each of those 9 months not only to grow your baby, but to grow you into becoming a loving mama. For sure not the perfect mama, but one who is just what your baby needs. So excited for you guys! It's a hard, but so incredibly rewarding time of life!
